Each year, Kiwanis Clubs around the world join in a day of service. This year it was April 21, and the Kiwanis Club of Turlock along with the Key Clubs from Turlock and Pitman high schools, came together to make a difference in the community. The clubs made over 40 flannel blankets to donate to local organizations. Last year, blankets were donated to the Turlock Police Department to hand out to families in crisis and Verda’s House, the Turlock branch of the Children’s Crisis Center. The Key Clubs had not yet decided which organizations to donate the blankets to this year, but the Kiwanis Club of Turlock will be giving a few of the handmade blankets to TPD once again.
