The Stanislaus County Library Advisory Board is seeking applicants for a youth representative.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on July 5, and can be obtained by visiting any Stanislaus County

Library location or www.stanislauslibrary.org.

“Serving on the Library Advisory Board is a great opportunity for a high school student to gain leadership experience and develop critical thinking skills,” said County Library Director Vanessa

Czopek.

The Library Advisory Board provides feedback to the county library director, participates in

library strategic planning, serves on the citizens’ oversight committee that monitors the use of funds

generated by the dedicated library sales tax, and reports to the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors

on issues facing the library. Members of the Library Advisory Board represent all geographic areas of

Stanislaus County, as well as interest areas, such as, agriculture, business, education and youth

(typically a high school student). The board meets quarterly. Further details can be found on the

library’s web site at www.stanislauslibrary.org.
