The holidays have arrived, and Macedo’s Mini Acre Ranch is opening its door to folks of all ages so everyone can experience a little Christmas— alpaca style.

Today, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,  Macedo's Mini Acre in Stevinson will welcome guests to join them for activities including needle felting, spinning and knitting demonstrations, coloring pages for kids, meet and greet alpacas and a miniature horse.  Products made from alpaca fiber will also be on display and for sale.

“We currently have 73 alpacas ready to be showcased,” said Maureen Macedo.  “We also have two newborn alpacas that I’m sure the little kids will love.  We will also have a meet and greet area for kids to pet the alpacas and feed them hay if they wish to.  There will be a holiday boutique with scarves, hats, and sweaters that make a perfect gift for Christmas.”

Also in the holiday spirit, The Lora Llama Ranch in Turlock will host its Christmas themed Ranch Day opening event today, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where visitors can enjoy learning about llamas and experience their gentle nature and luxurious fiber.

Parents are invited to bring their cameras to snap photos of their children with Santa and a llama or two.  As an added bonus, llamas will be adorned in Christmas lights.  Visitors will have the opportunity to pet and feed the llamas.

Macedo’s Mini Acre is located at 20721 Highway 140, Stevinson.

Lora’s Llama Ranch is located at 11175 Golf Link, Turlock.
