Six girls from Gymnastics Unlimited in Turlock have qualified for a regional competition on April 14.
Jackie Rodriguez, Ali Deleray, Sam Friesen, Mikeala Heisler, Sydney Holmes and Lauren Claus-Smith competed at the state level just two weeks ago and are now eagerly preparing for the regional competition in Las Vegas next weekend.
The girls practice six days out of the week for 20 hours. They are dedicated athletes and are very excited to perform.
“We feel very prepared,” said Smith.
Gymnastics Unlimited is very thrilled to have six girls qualify for such a big competition. Two years ago the company only had one gymnast compete and now they have six.
“I am very pleased with the way the girls have grown and excelled in their sport,” said instructor Paul Mayer.
The girls are all very anxious to compete and showcase their routines next weekend.
“It’s an honor to qualify, we feel very accomplished,” said Deleray.
