The Turlock Certified Farmers Market opened for its eighth season Saturday at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. Visitors were greeted by the musical entertainment of Red Pony as they entered the market. Vendors provided samples of cheeses, barbecue sauces, jams, candies, produce and more. The market included activities for kids such as face painting and games. Aside from the market's edible offerings, vendors sold custom wood work, handmade bows and children's accessories and succulents. The Turlock Certified Farmers Market will run from 8 am. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 14, with the exception of July 15 and 22 during the county fair.
