The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program will sponsor the 20th Annual Lighting of the Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree and Candlelight Vigil at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The ceremony will be held on the Courthouse Lawn located at 1100 I St., Modesto.

Opening remarks will be made by District Attorney Birgit Fladager, followed by guest speaker Phyllis Talton, in memory of her son. Special music will be provided by Ruthanne Castro and David Leonard, followed by the Norman N. Glick Middle School Choir.

Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to attend and bring a non-breakable ornament to hang on the tree in remembrance of their loved ones who are not with us to celebrate the holiday season due to the criminal acts of others.

In case of rain, the program will be moved to the parking garage at 832 12th St., across from the courthouse.
