Locals looking for unique gift items won’t have to leave their home thanks to the launch of Alyssa Maxwell’s new online boutique Under the Oak.

Under the Oak went live on June 15 and with a website, Facebook, and Instagram account, shoppers have unlimited access to Maxwell’s unique items.

“At this point I have a lot of variety for a couple of products,” explained Maxwell, noting that she offers products like pillows, mugs, tea towels, kitchen utensils, and tote bags. “A lot of the items I would say trend towards wedding and bridal gifts and home décor.”

As someone who always wanted to own her own business, Maxwell was inspired to begin Under the Oak after she got married last September. Upon settling into her new home with her husband, she found her love of home décor items reignited and decided to finally make her interest of owning a boutique a reality. While Maxwell plans to continue to sell her items online for the time being, eventually having her own storefront is not a possibility she is ruling out.

“I would just love to see my products in a lot more people’s homes and I plan on doing some local fairs where I can have booths and some pop up shops,” said Maxwell. “Right now I plan to keep it online, but maybe one day having a real brick and mortar would be great.”
