History of business: DevonMiles, named after owner Mary Martinez' sons, opened its doors five months ago and already has big plans for the future. The accessories boutique, located in the old mercantile building behind Dust Bowl Brewery Tap Room, offers unique selections and something new every month.

“There’s a lot to look at when you visit the store. I have put together a great selection that adds a different flavor in fashion,” said Martinez. “So far, I’ve been getting excellent feedback from the community.

 “I get my latest accessories from New York and bring back new products every month to change up the look of the store. Next month I’ll be traveling to Paris and bringing some of their accessories to my store. My style could be described as a city urban type feel of fashion.”

Business specialty: DevonMiles carries a selection of fashion accessories sometimes hard to find in California. Earrings, purses, bracelets, belts, fedora hats and different types of scarves purchased from vendors in New York can be found in the downtown shop.

“We also have a little bit of a men’s line here,” said Martinez. “I want to eventually bring shoes in the picture and incorporate them at the store. For birthdays, DevonMiles will wrap the accessories in a gift bag so it’s all ready to go for that special celebration.”

DevonMiles’ accessories range from $5 up to $185.

“We were very conscious when choosing the prices with our accessories,” said Martinez.  “Our price selections can pretty much fit every customer’s needs and if they are on a budget, we also have some accessories at low prices. Our store is very classy and appealing to pretty much every demographic.”
