Pitman and Turlock High Key Club members joined the Kiwanis Club of Turlock on Saturday for the annual Kiwanis One Day event. The combined club members made dozens of fleece blankets and ponchos that will be donated to the Delhi Fire Department, Turlock Gospel Mission women and children's shelter program, the We Care men's shelter program and the Turlock Police Department.

The Kiwanis Club of Turlock purchased the fleece fabric, with a generous discount from Rainbow Fabrics, and Linda Parry also donated fabric.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
