The Sons in Retirement organization are looking for local Korean War veterans to participate in a service tribute in November.

The Sons in Retirement plans to honor Korean veterans, both those that served in and out of the War Zone at their Nov. 19 meeting.

“It’s a chance for us to say thank you to those vets that served during the Korean War,” said SIRS Program Chairman Rick Kindle.

The tribute will include a presentation of the Ambassador of Peace medals awarded by the South Korean government. The medal is presented to those veterans that served June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953. The application to apply for the medal is Sept. 23.

SIR is an organization for retired or semi-retired men and provides a fraternity type environment regardless of religion, political views or race.

Any Korean War veterans wishing to participate in the ceremony and apply for the medal can contact Rick Kindle at 652-8608 or email at rick@kindleandassoc.com.
