History of Business: For the past ten years, Sheri and Darrell Dedrickson have owned and operated Sheri’s Turlock Health Foods, a store dedicated to providing healthy food options and supplements to their customers.
Since 1986, Sheri and her husband have operated another store in Lodi, Sheri’s Sonshine Nutrition Center. In 2003, the two purchased the Turlock Health Foods store after learning the previous owner had put the business up for sale.
“When I heard it was up for sale, my husband I talked about it and we decided that we could do this. I knew the old owner very well, so it really was just a good fit for us,” said Dedrickson. “We have some really faithful customers that we really appreciate. Our personal goal is to give the best customer service that we possibly can, because I like to treat people the way I like to be treated. We strive hard to do that and go the extra mile for our customers.”
Prior to then, the Turlock Health Foods store had been owned by Turlock resident Stanley Gustafson for 25 years. Although the ownership may have changed, store manager Jessica Prehm says that many of their customers have stayed loyal to the store throughout the years.
“We have customers that have shopped here since Stan had it,” said Prehm. “But we’re always getting new customers too.”
Offering a wide variety of vitamins, supplements and groceries, Sheri’s Turlock Health Foods is a one-stop shop for anyone looking for healthier options.
“I started doing this when I was 24-years-old, and it’s just been an absolutely amazing journey,” said Dedrickson. “If it weren’t for our customers we wouldn’t be around. I believe in giving thanks where thanks is due, and I want to just thank all of our awesome staff and customers. We couldn’t do it without them.”
Business Specialty: With a vast array of organic items, detoxifiers, and antioxidants, Sheri’s Turlock Health Foods specializes in keeping customers’ cabinets full of healthy products.
“We have a wide range of vitamin supplements, powdered greens, protein powders, and lots of cleansing programs,” said Dedrickson. “We also have lots of recipes on our website that are really delicious and full of great ingredients.”
Sheri’s Turlock Health Foods will be holding a “Walk-in Wellness Wednesday” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 13, where customers can receive healthy giveaway items.
