Pacific Equipment Solutions, with an assist from Huff Energy Solutions, will soon begin construction on a new 13,000-square-foot facility on Auto Mall Drive, slated to open in seven to eight months.
The Turlock Chamber of Commerce, along with representatives from Pacific Equipment Solutions, Huff Energy Solutions, and district representatives for local elected leaders were on hand Tuesday for a groundbreaking ceremony.
Headquartered in Hayward, Pacific Equipment Solutions will transfer its Modesto operation to Turlock, which will then become the company headquarters. The company also has locations in Fresno, Sacramento, Salinas, Santa Rosa, and Las Vegas.
“Primarily, we’re a forklift dealer,” said PES co-owner Nick Logan, who noted that the project is expected to take seven to eight months to complete, making for a grand opening just after the new year. “We sell forklifts, we service and repair forklifts, we rent forklifts, our primary bread and butter is forklifts and material-handling equipment. We also sell racking equipment, PowerBoss sweepers and scrubbers, aerial boom lifts, and things of that nature. But, primarily, it’s stand-up and sit-down forklifts.”
Forklifts can also be rented for do-it-yourself home projects, with PES providing forklift certification classes.
The new facility will sit on about an acre of land, with space to expand.
“It’ll be a warehouse, with sales offices up front, and a conference center,” said Alex Aja, project manager for Huff Energy Solutions. “They’re going to do all their maintenance and sales out of this office.
“We’ve got great frontage here along Highway 99, and we’re going to have beautiful signs for this facility. It’s going to be exciting, because before they were nestled in a little corner in Modesto.”
On hand for the groundbreaking ceremony were Allie Jeffery, president of the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, Tammy Dunbar, the district representative for Rep. Adam Gray (D-Merced), Joey Chavez, the district representative for state Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson), and Modesto City Councilmember Jeremiah Williams.
“We’re very excited,” said Logan, who pointed out that Save Mart and FoodMaxx are two of his company's largest clients. “We’re going to get rid of our Modesto facility at some point and we’ll have everyone there come to Turlock, so it will be a big boon here.”
