The crew at Lancaster Painting once again put community first through its Paint It Forward program last weekend, helping two local churches receive much-needed makeovers.

Every year the Turlock painting company chooses one or more local nonprofits or community organizations to donate their services to. This year, Sierra Foothills church in Oakdale and Calvary Assembly of God church in Merced were the recipients.

“They do a lot for their community,” said Jennifer Pettit of Lancaster Painting about the two churches chosen.

Pettit said they had quite a few nominations for the Paint It Forward program this year, the first time since 2019 that the company accepted them due to the pandemic. The past few years, crews donated their services to helping get the new location of Turlock’s grief assistance center, Jessica’s House, ready to serve families.

Lancaster Painting will start taking nominations for the next Paint It Forward program in September.

“It’s an opportunity to give back to those who give to the community,” Pettit said.
