Turlockers once again put their patriotic spirit on display with the return of the downtown 4th of July parade, held on Saturday.

“It was good to have it back,” said Mayor Amy Bublak about the holiday event.

Hundreds gathered in downtown Turlock to celebrate Independence Day while community groups from youth soccer to high school bands and the Sheriff’s Posse marched down Main Street in their red, white and blue finest.

The Grand Marshall of this year’s parade was Roy Hedstrom of Turlock. Hedstrom is a 90-year-old veteran of the Korean War and member of the Korean War Dogs and the Veterans of Foreign War.
