History of business: Meet Lisa Piffero. A mother. A Turlock resident. And since 2008, the sole owner of Bliss Photography.

Although Piffero has been a professional photographer since 2008, she still considers herself a bit of a newbie.

“I still think of myself as an intermediate,” said Piffero.”Maybe in 5-10 years, but right now, I’m still very much new to this.”

Piffero said her love for snapping pictures began early in life. Unfortunately, she was never able to pursue her passion. So, she put her dream on the backburner and took up a job in the health field as a medical assistant.

Yet, the whole time she constantly saw her life through a different lens. A lens that she wanted to make into a career. In 2005, she did just that. Piffero enrolled into Merced College and began officially taking courses in photography.

“I just wanted to get a feel of my camera and exactly what I was doing,” said Piffero.

After taking learning the basics of professional photography, Piffero set out to open what is now Bliss Photography.

Since her voyage into the world of photography, Piffero has built up a clientele ranging from mothers looking for pictures of their newborns to wedding parties for hundreds of people.

Piffero said a lot of her clientele are repeat customers, and that over the years she’s managed to build and maintain relationships with them; not just as customers, but also as friends.   

 “I remember going to one wedding where I really felt like I was part of the family,” said Piffero. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten emotional looking behind that lens.”
