Police investigate train fatality in Turlock

The Turlock Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was struck by a train early Saturday morning.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending next of kin notification.

The incident was reported to the police department around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The man, described as a white male adult, was reportedly lying between the railroad tracks near Marshall Street.

The police department’s incident page states the train conductor saw the man attempt to get off the tracks, but he was not fast enough and was hit.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
