Power line falls near Turlock park

Nette Silva was at the Crane Park playground Thursday morning with her kids when a large tree branch suddenly fell, taking with it a power line.

"There was a lady walking near the tree when it fell," said Silva. "She turned to me and said, 'Lucky day for me, I wasn't walking under it.'"

City of Turlock workers blocked off westbound Canal Drive in front of the park for about two hours on Thursday while a Turlock Irrigation District electrical crewman repaired the line.
