Tuesday evening was all about Prodigal Sons and Daughters, the faith-based addiction recovery ministry near downtown Turlock. The ministry played host to the Turlock Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer, networking with community members while also sharing their mission with attendees.
Of the attendees were dozens of members of the Kiwanis of Great Turlock. The community service club surprised PSD employees with a $10,000 check to help fund facility operations.
“Organizations like this are so important to our community,” said Kiwanis of Greater Turlock President Mike Staack. “The work they do is amazing and we need more people like them, but it can’t happen if we as a community don’t work together.”
Prodigal Sons and Daughters helps an hundreds of individuals per month in their journey to sobriety. The ministry provides one-on-one counseling, group meetings, art therapy, teen drug education and more.
