Quilt show opens Saturday

The Turlock Quilt Guild is hosting their 2014 Quilt show this weekend at the Stanislaus County Fair.

The show, called Re-piecing the Past, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The show will feature numerous quilts, along with vendors, demonstrations and raffle baskets.

The featured quilter will be Ursula Sylvan, whose works have been displayed in various museums, including the San Jose Museum of Quilts. She had a quilt featured in the Island Heritage Contemporary Quilts Calendar and previously won "Best Use of Theme" from the Conejo Quilt Guild.

Tickets for the quilt show are $7 for adults and children 12 and under have free admission.

The Stanislaus County Fair is located at 900 N. Broadway.
