Covenant Village Retirement Community held a ceremony on Wednesday in remembrance of those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The facility's American flag was flown at half mast  and Army Chaplain Assistant Sgt. Harrison shared his experiences at Ground Zero.  Local bagpiper Randy Francis provided patriotic tunes during the ceremony.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
