RV fire on West Glenwood claims pets, displaces family

Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a motorhome and left a family displaced in the 200 block of West Glenwood.

At 11:48 a.m. Thursday, Turlock Fire Engine 31 responded to reports of an RV engulfed in flames. Engine 33 and Battalion Chief 4 were added to the call as firefighters arrived to find the fire spreading toward a nearby grass field. Crews acted quickly to extinguish the blaze, preventing further damage.

Tragically, three dogs perished in the fire. The Red Cross is assisting two adults and three children who had been living in the motorhome.

The Stanislaus County Fire Investigation Unit is actively investigating the cause.
