Scout seeks flags for retirement ceremony

The Turlock Fire Department is extending an offer to the community to have their old or tattered flags retired properly.

Turlock resident Brandon Shively has organized a flag retirement ceremony as part of his Eagle Scout Badge project.

The ceremony will take place at the Drill Grounds behind Fire Station 2, located at 791 S. Walnut Avenue at 5 p.m. Friday.

Community members who would like to support Shively’s project can drop off flags at the designated fire stations.

Flag drop off locations: Station 1 – 540 E. Marshall; Station 2 – 791 S. Walnut; Station 3 – 501 E. Monte Vista; and Station 4 – 2820 N. Walnut.
