Seniors living on a budget can eat farm-fresh fruits and vegetables thanks to the Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging and the Turlock Farmers Market.

On June 15, eligible Stanislaus County seniors can receive a free $20 coupon to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at the Turlock Farmers Market.

The coupons are only available for county residents age 60 or older, with income under $1,723 per month for singles, or $2,333 per month for couples. Coupons must be used by Nov. 30.

The $20 coupon can only be used to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, or edible herbs at certified farmers markets. No change will be given for coupons, and lost or stolen coupons will not be replaced.

Coupons will only be distributed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and are available only for the first 100 seniors. Seniors may only receive one set of coupons per person per year.

The Turlock Farmers Market is located on Broadway in downtown Turlock, between Olive Avenue and A Street.
