Streets closed for track maintenance

Union Pacific Railroad will be performing track maintenance on the section of railroad between Main Street and Olive Avenue, closing the intersections from Tuesday to Thursday.

The closures will be enforced to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The railroad will close down the intersections Tuesday morning and they will remain closed until Thursday evening, according to railroad officials.

Traffic will be diverted to the crossings at either Marshall Street or Canal Drive.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
