The Turlock Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that charred an outside storage unit at a local thrift shop. The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the Sacred Heart Thrift Store at 1388 East Ave. The first fire crews to arrive at the scene found smoke and flames coming from a trailer being used for storage at the property. The trailer was adjacent to the thrift store.
