The Turlock Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that charred an outside storage unit at a local thrift shop.

The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the Sacred Heart Thrift Store at 1388 East Ave.

The first fire crews to arrive at the scene found smoke and flames coming from a trailer being used for storage at the property. The trailer was adjacent to the thrift store.

Fire fighters were quickly able to bring the fire under control and kept it from spreading to the main building, said Turlock Fire Chief Robert Talloni. Once entry into the storage trailer was made the fire was completely extinguished.

There were no injuries reported from the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
