Canine-loving community members will soon have reason to celebrate, as Top Notch Kennels plans to open another location in Turlock.

Top Notch Kennels already operates two locations in Modesto, Top Notch Kennels and Top Notch Play All Daycare. At the Modesto locations, the organization provides dog boarding, daycare, training and grooming. Top Notch Kennels also features a Bow Wow Boutique, which offers toys, treats, clothing and a variety of other items for dogs.

The new Top Notch Kennels facility will be located at 1118 S. Tegner Rd., and is expected to offer many of the same amenities that the Modesto locations provide. Owner Lisa Moore applied for city permits to construct the future facility’s two 8,100 square foot buildings on July 8, and according to the application, the new Top Notch Kennels location will also provide “services including educating the public in dog care, grooming and boarding with dog training and responsibility classes in the near future.”

Dog boarding at Top Notch Kennels' Modesto locations includes 48, 64 or 96 square foot suites which provides canine guests with beds and blankets, full air conditioning and heating and soothing music. Dogs under 25 pounds can stay in the Pee Wee Cottage, which offers the same care as the kennels but in a home environment.

At Top Notch Kennel daycare in Modesto, dogs can be dropped off for the day or for a partial day. Daycare dogs are divided up into play groups and allowed to run free, play equipment and socialize with other dogs.

The Modesto facility also provides dog training, with certified dog trainers on site.
