The District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program will sponsor the 19th Annual Lighting of the Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree and Candlelight Vigil at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The ceremony will be held on the courthouse lawn located at 1100 I Street, in Modesto.

District Attorney Birgit Fladager will be opening the ceremony, followed by Sheriff Adam Christianson.

The program will include guest speakers Annette Ramirez and Erin Nelson, with special music by Stephanie King and Tanya De La Puente.

Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to attend and bring a non-breakable ornament to hang on the tree in remembrance of their loved ones who are not with them to celebrate the holiday season due to the criminal acts of others.

In case of rain, the program will be moved to the parking garage at 832 12th street, across from the courthouse.
