The Turlock Community Gospel Choir will be holding their Spring Concert on Sunday at the Turlock Covenant Church.

The concert will start at 6 p.m. and will feature guest artist Terrance J. Smith.

Smith is the program and musical director of the Oakdale Christian Academy Choir in Chicago, which is a 100-person choir that has toured around the world and released CDs of their performances.

The Turlock Community Gospel Choir was formed in 2016 and is under the direction of Thomas Simonsson, who also serves as the Director of Worship and Youth at Turlock Covenant Church.

Admission for the upcoming show is free and childcare will be provided.

The church is located at 316 S. Laurel Street in Turlock.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
