One injured in collision

A two vehicle collision sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday, the Turlock Fire Department reported.

The collision happened at the intersection of S. Golden State Boulevard and Minerva Street.

The vehicles appeared to have T-boned and the impact sent one car into a pole, causing some damage that was reported to Turlock Irrigation District.

One patient was taken by ambulance to a local emergency room.

Man drives car into canal

The Turlock Fire Department responded to a vehicle in a canal on Thursday.

The vehicle went into the canal near the overpass west of N. Tully Road.

The driver had gotten himself out of the vehicle and was found walking in the area next to a chemical storage facility, according to the fire department.

The vehicle was checked for any additional occupants and none were found.

The driver initially said he was not injured, but then later stated he had chest pain and an ambulance took him to a nearby hospital.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
