A Turlock truck driver making a delivery to a Keyes factory was struck and killed by a train Thursday morning, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.

The deceased has been identified as Miguel Vigil Ruelas, 64.

The train that struck Ruelas did not stop, which means it is possible that the train engineer was unaware of the incident. At this time, there are no known witnesses and investigators are unsure if it was a passenger or freight train involved, though the tracks are more frequently used by freight trains.

The sheriff's department was dispatched to the A.L. Gilbert Feed plant located on Jessup Road in Keyes around 7 a.m. Thursday after employees discovered Ruelas' remains.

The deceased was found along the east side of the railroad tracks, which is closer to Highway 99. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
