Turlock Nursery School honored retiring director Julie Johnson on Friday with the dedication of a Little Free Library outside of the school located on Grant Avenue.

"I'm very appreciative and thrilled. I love books and literacy and this is a nice way to remember me and the years I put in at the school," said Johnson, who is retiring after 35 years in preschool education.

The library is set up for the community to take a book or leave a book free of charge.

"We wanted to dedicate something for Teacher Julie's 35th year and retirement and something that would benefit Turlock Nursery School and the community," said Turlock Nursery School President Autumn Reed.
