Turlock preps for Family Fun Night

The city of Turlock’s Public Works Department is bringing the fun to the north side of town on Friday for the annual Family Fun Night.

The free event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex behind Pitman High School. It will consist of outdoor activities for all ages and concessions from various local vendors.

“This night is a perfect chance to make some memories,” the department said on social media.

Dogs will not be allowed in the facility. Alcoholic beverages will also not be allowed on the city’s property. As the name of the event alludes to, it is a family-friendly event.

The shelves at Turlock’s Rite Aid drugstore on Monte Vista Avenue are slowly being emptied and signs posted on the store’s popular Thrifty counter state “No More Ice-Cream” with a cartoon cone sporting a frowny face. An employee of the local drugstore on Thursday confirmed to curious customers that the store will be closing its doors, but he didn’t know exactly when.
