Turlock’s Police Activities League (P.A.L.) has received a $3,000 donation from the Turlock Sports Park after the organization’s May sports camp fundraiser. P.A.L. is a non-profit organization with the primary goal of promoting a constructive relationship between law enforcement and the youth of Turlock.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Turlock Sports Park,” said Turlock Chief of Police Jason Hedden. “Their generous donation to P.A.L. provides opportunities to support youth in our community in a number of ways.”

Every year, the organization contributes over $25,000 to Turlock’s Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities department to keep summer and after-school programs active. In addition to providing a safe place for kids to go and learn, they also foster a connection with the youth and law enforcement.

Presenting the check to Hedden and Sergeant David Hall on Thursday was Turlock Sports Park CEO Fred Rasuli.

“P.A.L. is just close to me because of the mission that it has,” Rasuli said back in May ahead of the fundraiser. “It's police activities with young demographics through sport activities and physical activities… This type of engagement is a win-win for everybody.”

Community members are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for another sports camp alongside members of the Turlock Police Department this winter. Updates on the Turlock Police Activities League can be found on their Facebook page at Turlock PAL.
