Turlock woman killed in crash with semi-truck
emergency

A Turlock woman was killed Monday when her vehicle veered into the path of an oncoming semi-truck on Lander Avenue, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The name of the deceased was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Randee Mendosa, 38, of Turlock.

The collision happened at 12:11 p.m. Monday on Lander Avenue, near W. Simmons Avenue.

Mendosa was driving a Ford Fusion westbound on Lander when for an unknown reason the vehicle veered into the westbound lane, directly into the path of a semi-truck.

One other person sustained injuries in the crash that were described as non-life threatening and was taken to a local hospital. The police department did not state if the other injured party was the semi-truck driver or a passenger in the Ford Fusion,

The collision prompted a call out for the police department’s Major Accident Investigation Team and a closure of Lander Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
