Michael Frantz, Director Division 1 and Becky Hackler Arellano, Director Division 4, were sworn in for four-year terms on the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors, ending in December 2028.

Frantz won reelection in Division 1, a seat he has held since 2009. Frantz is president of Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC and is active on local, statewide, and national boards, including the Nursery Growers Association Board, the Farm Bureau, AmericanHort and the Board of Sustainable Conservation.

Arellano ran unopposed in Division 4, a seat vacated by former Director Rob Santos. Arellano is a former Turlock City Councilmember, comes from a third-generation farming family and currently farms corn and alfalfa. Upon being sworn in, Arellano became the first woman in TID’s history to serve on the Board of Directors.

Santos represented Division 4 for 17 years beginning in 2007 and opted not to run for reelection in 2024.

The Board of Directors also elected the President, Vice President and Secretary of the Board. Frantz was elected President and David Yonan, Director Division 2, was elected Vice President. Joe Alamo, Director Division 3, was elected Secretary of the Board. Yonan, was elected to the Board in November 2022 and has served as Vice President since December 2022. Alamo was elected to the Board in 2009.

The President, Vice President and Secretary terms are effective Dec. 6, 2024 through Dec. 1, 2025. Ron Macedo, Director Division 5, served as Board President for the past year, and completes the five-member, elected Board of Directors.
