Victims rights rally in Modesto

In recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program and the Stanislaus Family Justice Center will sponsor a Victims’ Rights Rally and Family Safety Fair from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event will be held on the Courthouse Lawn located at 1100 I Street, Modesto with brief presentations by District Attorney Birgit Fladager, SFJC Executive Director Carol Shipley, along with a presentation and demonstration by 3 Strands Global and a human trafficking survivor.

Elizabeth Ustach Middle School Band will kick off the rally and additional music will be provided by Pete and Tanya Delapuente. Lunch will be provided to all who attend.

Victims’ rights awareness, crime prevention education and family safety will be the focus of the event, with a wide variety of local resources and fun activities available for families and children in the community. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
