Victims rights rally planned for Saturday

The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office and the Stanislaus Family Justice Center is holding a Victims’ Right Rally and Family Safety Fair in downtown Modesto on Saturday.

The event is being held in conjunction with the national Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which is from April 19 to April 25.

Victim rights awareness, crime prevention education, and family safety will be the focus of the event, with a wide variety of local resources and fun activities available for families and children in the community.

The event will be held on the Courthouse Lawn located at 1100 I Street, Modesto with brief presentations by District Attorney Birgit Fladager, SFJC Executive Director Tom Ciccarelli, Domestic Violence Survivor Christine Tallent, and FBI Victim Services Specialist Holly Peacock-Hickey.

The Beyer High Band will kick off the rally and additional special music will be provided by Tanya De la Puente. Lunch will be provided to all who attend.

A week after the popular American Graffiti Festival wrapped up in Modesto, the senior citizens of Turlock continued to build a similar annual tradition of their own.
