Are you a Turlocker looking for work? Walmart might have a spot for you.

Last week, Walmart announced the opening of its new temporary hiring center located at  2101 Geer Road, Suite 107.

Walmart is looking to fill 95 positions at the new Turlock Walmart Neighborhood Market, which is set to open by mid August.

According to Everton Lira, store manager of the new neighborhood market, a few dozen applicants have already applied for several full-time and part-time positions.

“They’re very excited about us coming in,” said Lira.

Lira also added that the he and his team have received  positive feedback about the new neighborhood market.

“We’re here to listen to our customers, what they need and serve them even better,” Lira

Although Walmart began the neighborhood market format in 1998, the new store will be the first of its kind in Turlock.

The market will be open 24 hours a day and will include a variety of groceries along with a fully equipped pharmacy.

“Our main focus is grocery,” said Lira. “The difference is that you're walking into a grocery store with Walmart prices and Walmart customer service.”

The new neighborhood market will be located at the site of the previous Mervyn's store in Turlock and hired employees are set to begin working by July.

Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
