The We Care program, which operates a cold weather shelter for homeless men in Turlock, is hosting an open house of their facilities on Thursday.
The open house will include a tour of the shelter and information about the program. We Care strives to provide homeless men with a safe environment nutritious meals, and life skills coaching. Shelter guests are also provided a number of services that help them become self sufficient with the hopes of getting them off the street.
Last year, We Care served a total of 6,748 shelter nights to 224 unduplicated guests. The We Care Program has served a total of 2,191 men who have stayed a total of 61,181 shelter nights in the last 12 years, according to Sandy Singh, the interim executive director of the program.
The open house is set for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at 219 S. Broadway.
