Eight fire departments responded to a barn fire that got out of hand on Friday afternoon. The fire started in the barn of a Turlock farm located off of Bradbury and Mitchell roads around 4 p.m. The wind picked up the fire, destroying three buildings on the farm and then the flames jumped across the street to a house, said Kevin Blount, Mt. View fire chief. The roof of the house and surrounding grass caught fire. There was also a diesel fuel leak at the fire sight. The eight fire departments that were present were Turlock Rural, Denair, Ceres, West Stanislaus, Keyes, Mt. View, Patterson and Westport. No one was hurt during the fire.
