"We hope these classes have a little something for everyone," Playhouse Merced wrote on their Facebook page. "Whether you’ve been taking classes at The Playhouse your whole life, or have never been in our building at all, our new classes are designed for performers of all levels."
The first session will start on Tuesday and will run for four weeks via Zoom, ending April 30. That means that each class will “meet” for four weeks in a row, and pricing is for the four classes in that offering. For those who want to take more than one, Playhouse Merced is offering multi-class discounts.
The following classes will be offered:
Tuesdays: 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dance Workshop I-Jazz for 5-7 year olds (recommended ages), runs April 7, 14, 21 and 28
Tuesdays: 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Cardio Dance-Stretching & Conditioning, open ages, runs April 7, 14, 21 and 28
Wednesdays: 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dance Workshop II-Jazz for 8-11 year olds (recommended ages), runs April 8, 15, 22 and 29
Wednesdays: 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Physical Theatre Techniques with Alyse for ages 8 and up, runs April 8, 15, 22 and 29:
— Week 1 Object Manipulation - Basics of Object Manipulation-- Challenge
— Week 2- Movement and dance techniques- Basic Fly Low and Passing through
— Week 3 Basic Clowning and Challenge
— Week 4 Circus Training Techniques
Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Teen/ Adult Dance Workshop III-Jazz for ages 13 and up, runs April 9, 16, 23 and 30
Thursdays: 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Adult Tap for dancers 12 years old and up, runs April 9, 16, 23 and 30
Pricing is $25 for one 4-week class, $40 for two 4-week classes, $55 for three 4-week classes and $70 for four 4-week classes.
