More than 90 children from the Stanislaus County area are in the midst of their final rehearsals as the Youth Entertainment Stage Kidettes get set to perform Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh, Kids!”

The cast of first through fifth graders from schools all over the county will be performing the show at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4. All shows will be in the Downey High School Auditorium at 1000 Coffee Rd., in Modesto.

Based on the beloved characters of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film, “Disney’s Winnie the Pooh, Kids!” welcomes audiences to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, and Owl, but soon discovers that the Backson has captured Christopher Robin. As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship, and sharing snacks. This stage adaptation is meant for an audience of three years or older. Infants under 2 will not be admitted.

Now in its 21st season, well over 160,000 community members have attended a YES Company performance since the company’s first summer production in 1992.  YES Company, through all its strands, brings students from diverse backgrounds together and provides them with productive after-school and summer activities. In addition to the Kidettes, YES Company offers performing opportunities for middle school and high school students.

Tickets are $8 for children 2-12 years of age and seniors (age 55+), $12 for teens and adults. Tickets are available at www.yescompany.org and at the Box Office one and a half hours prior to each performance. Tickets will reflect assigned seating.
