Mr. Shahbaz was born in Iran.  He came to the United States in 1990 and settled in Modesto.  He was a member of the Assyrian Pentecostal Church. 
He is survived by his wife, Yolia Shahbaz; children, Rosana Shiekhani, Rony Shahbaz, Raymond Shahbaz and Rodney Shahbaz; sister, Nancy Aghassi; brother, William Shahbaz; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 17 at Turlock Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
