Turlock's oldest living native and first Assyrian born in Turlock, Albert Adams, was born Oct. 9, 1912 to parents Dr. Isaac and Sarah Adams.  One of eight children, Albert graduated from Turlock High School, Modesto Junior College and attended the University of Southern California. Albert married the love of his life, Geraldine Fleming, in 1938.  Al and Jerry were together for 62 years until her passing in 2000. Albert experienced many things in life. He was a Boy Scout, Eagle Scout and Scout Master at a time when scouting was a true American tradition. During WWII he worked as a civilian employee for the federal government. Stricken with polio as a toddler, Albert never allowed his physical handicap to hold him back from living a rich and successful life. Al's main career was in the produce business.  He worked in Turlock for 58 years brokering melons and other produce, and was a partner in Turlock Seed and Brokerage Co. for years. Albert will truly be missed by all his family, as he was recognized as the true strength of his family. His eyes would sparkle when he saw his grandchildren and great grandchildren, knowing that he left behind a great legacy.
Albert is survived by sons, Gary (Billie) Adams of Turlock and Dr. Rex (Shelley) Adams of Reno, Nev.; grandchildren,  Joshua (Yvette) Adams, Jessie (Robin) Shahan, Andrew Adams, Evan Adams and Allison Adams; great grandchildren,  Emily Adams, Albert I.
