Alberto Teixeira Azevedo was born March 28, 1931 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 18, 2015.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Albertina, his 3 sons Jorge (Pam), Paul (Rosa), and Elias, 4 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren, as well as his siblings Julia & Joao of Canada, Vitoria of Sao Jorge & Jose of Winton.  He is preceded in death by his parents Jose & Angelina and his brother Antonio.

Alberto was born in Sao Jorge, Azores and moved his family to the United States in 1968.  He has resided in the Merced community for the last 30 years where he enjoyed tending to his garden and participating in Festa activities.

Funeral Services will be officiated by Father Manuel Sousa on October 23, 2015 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church as follows:  Viewing at 9am, Rosary at 10am, Mass at 10:30am.

Burial will be at Winton Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Atwater Women’s Club.
