Alfredo Rodrigues Alves, 63, of Hilmar, died Tuesday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. He was born in 1946 in Doza, Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores.
A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Alfredo was a dairyman for 35 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar and Casa dos Acores of Hilmar. He loved attending Portuguese cultural events such as bullfights and festas. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his companion, Guilherminha Machado of Hilmar; son, Danny A. Alves of Los Banos; daughters, Diane Jones and her husband, Adam, of Los Banos and Debbie Perez and her husband, Sergio, of Turlock; brothers, Valdemar Alves and his wife, Mary, of Turlock and Antonio Alves and his wife, Penn, of Los Banos; sister, Maria Luisa Borges and her husband, Jose, of Hilmar; and grandchildren, Michael Jones, Mariah Jones and Neo Perez.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Louisa Alves in 1993; and his parents, Antonio and Filomena Alves.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias.
