Louise was born in Pelican Rapids, MN to Olaf and Ida (Anderson) Rosdahl and passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She grew up and attended schools in Pelican Rapids and Sauk Centre, MN. She married Joy Cummings in May of 1936 and the newlyweds felt the call of God to serve Him in the ministry. Joy and his “Darling Snooks” pastored several churches in Minnesota and South Dakota in the early years.
Their son, Randy, was born in 1937 and later gave them two granddaughters and five great grandchildren. Their first daughter, Connie, was born in 1939 and added three grandsons and seven great grandchildren. In 1943 a second daughter, Sharon, was born and added two grandsons.
In 1953 they moved to Turlock where Joy was called to be the pastor of the Evangelical Free Church and where Louise enjoyed working with the boys and girls. She taught Sunday School and was active with the Pioneer Girls. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. In 1964 Joy became a national evangelist for the Evangelical Free Church, and they travelled all over the United States, as well as internationally, holding crusades in hundreds of churches. They were married for 70 years.
Louise loved to travel and enjoyed camping, fishing, and just being outdoors in God’s creation. She was happy when she caught the biggest fish, and Joy didn’t mind.
She is survived by two children: Connie (Gordon) Lundgren, of Turlock, and Sharon Wing of Turlock; daughter-in-law Linda Abid Cummings of Mountain Ranch, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Joy Cummings, her son Randy, her parents, daughter-in-law Andree Cummings, two sisters Olive and Audrey, and four brothers Ole, Ted, Lloyd, and Harry Rosdahl.
She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We thank God for her consistent Christian example and steady influence in our lives. She looked forward to the day she would be in Heaven with Jesus and reunited with all of her loved ones who have gone before her.
