Turlock

Alveda M. Johnson, 93 of Turlock passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. She was born August 31, 1918 in Des Moines, Iowa. She came to Turlock in 1935 and married Clarence Johnson in 1937; they were married for 66 years when Clarence passed away in 2003. She worked for Chatom School as a cook then worked as a lead cook for California State University, Stanislaus. She enjoyed gardening and belonged to the Evangelical Free Church in Turlock now called Crossroads Church.
Alveda is survived by her two sons, Alvin (Linda) Johnson of Brookings, OR, and Ronald (Tiiu) of Johnson of Los Altos, CA; two brothers, Clifford and Albert Aspholm; one sister, Eldora Brigley; four grandchildren, Michael, Debra, Karin, and Erik; four great grandchildren, Brandon, Shannon, Ella, and Ethan; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Chamille, and Sada.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
Visitation will also be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, September 30, 2011 starting at 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
