Amy E. Johnson
Dec 1915 ~ Apr 2013

Amy Anna Elvera Johnson was brought into this world at home on December 31, 1915 in Marysville, California.  She was the fifth of six children to Josua and Hannah Johnson.  Amy attended Beulah Covenant Church as a child and is a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel.
After graduating from Turlock High School, Amy started work as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell.  She stayed with Pac Bell, now AT&T, for the next 40 years.  Since her brother owned J & B Motors, Amy bought a new car every few years.  After retirement, Amy volunteered at Emanuel Hospital’s Thrift Shop and served lunches to senior citizens at a local church.
Amy lived a full, active life of 97 years right up to the end.  Her home was tidy and comfortable.  The door was always open for company.  Her most favorite thing to do was to shop.  She said many times she was born to shop.  Even after she gave up driving at age 92, she would walk to Walgreen’s at the end of the block most every day to do a little shopping.
Amy died peacefully and slipped away to heaven on Tuesday, April 9.  We are really going to miss our incredible auntie.
Amy is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Sharryl and Leroy Lindberg-Friesen, Larry and Joan Johnson, Becky and Doug Vagim, Debbie and Jim Swanbom; Great nieces and nephews:  Kristin and Kimberly Johnson, Eric and Wendy Lindberg, Jennifer and Mark Lindberg-Schimmoeller, Joshua and Madison Swanbom, Stephanie and Brett Adney.
A graveside service will be held for those who wish to attend on Saturday, April 20th at 12:00 noon.  Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
