Anita Mae Light Fair passed away peacefully at her home in Denair, Ca. surrounded by her family at the age of 92.

She was born on September 8, 1920 to Mae (Peckham) and Gustave “George” Light in Stockton, CA.

At age 19 she went to Vallejo and worked at Mare Island Shipyards as a cashier where she met and married Albert Castell Fair, who was a First Class Driller on war ships.  They were married for 57 years until his death in 1998.  After the war they moved back to Modesto, CA where they owned a service station for several years then moved to Denair and bought a 40 acre dairy until they moved into town for their remaining years.

Anita’s hobbies have been many.  She has always loved fishing, camping and traveling.  She was also a great cook and loved to make and decorate cakes. When it was someone’s birthday she would always bake and decorate a cake for them. She also enjoyed painting, making crafts and writing poetry. Another interest of hers was playing cards.

Anita was very proud to be a member of the (DAR) Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was also active in the Turlock Sunshine Club and the Red Hat Society,

Out of 8 siblings she is survived by her brother Charley Light of Ceres, three children; sons, Roger Fair of Plains, Montana, Ronald Fair (Carolyn) of Denair, and Daughter, Janice Heans (Bob) of Denair, two grandsons, Todd and Christopher three granddaughters, Kim, Tracy and Crystal, and eight great-grandsons.

Her life and legacy will be celebrated at Allen Mortuary Event Center, 239 N. Broadway, on November 10 at 3:00 pm, immediately following will be a celebration of Anita’s life at Denair Senior Center, 3756 Alameda Ave, Denair, CA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice of Emanuel Medical Center, in memory of Anita Fair, 825 Delbon Avenue, Turlock, CA 95382.
